A perfect companion wine for summer dog days, and barbeques, the 2019 Pinot Gris leaps out of the glass with pristine notes of white flowers and white pomal fruits. White peach, Bartlett pear, and lemon peel, are prominent and sing high above deeper aromas of allspice and river rock. Supple and smooth on the palate, this Pinot Gris creates a nice soliloquy by combining leading ripe stone fruit notes with brighter citrus notes, all atop a chalky mineral note. Defined by a wet winter early in the growing season, followed by a long, relatively mild finish in the fall, the 2019 vintage produced fruit characterized by great color, solid structure, and soft tannin. The late rain at the beginning of the season helped to give the vines a head start in growth allowing the vines to receive much needed nutrients and start growing quickly after bud break. Throughout the summer, very few extreme heat events occurred allowing the grapes to grow heartily. The long harvest allowed for abundant hang time, resulting in promising fruit. All in all, the 2019 vintage will be remembered fondly.Vineyard
